I've just created a kickstarter event for a film that will serve both as a workflow test and be entered into festivals. I don't want to give out too much information till the kickstarter project is launched but I can say that it's going to be a short narrative film of 8-12 minutes.

We're currently working on the storyboard. Once that's complete I'll be sending out feelers for crew and creating the budget. I'll be filming the project video this upcoming weekend to meet our fundraising start goal of Monday, November 5th. This video will star the producers and explain what the film is about, and how your contributions will help us make this film the best it can be. We'll also go into detail about what you get back for helping us. For those familiar with how kickstarter works this will be old news; every person that donates to the project will receive a reward. It might be a simple thank you, or as much as your name in the credits!

I look forward to seeing you all at the films premiere.

What I've been up to

I just got my film back from Dwayne's photo. I sent out the film from my trip to Seboomook Lake, Maine to them for processing. There's a lot of potential on these negatives, I'll be sending them out to get scanned in a day or two. Once I get the scans back I'll be able to process them on my computer and get them uploaded to the gallery.

In unrelated news today I went on a 3 hour sail aboard the Hudson river sloop Clearwater. It was a lot of fun since I've never had the chance to sail on something her size. Being on the river for the first time in 2 years has reignited my dream of building my own boat and living on the river for as many months of the year that it isn't frozen solid. If you want to learn more about the Clearwaters mission to clean up the Hudson river visit the ships website.

Back to photography, I recently bought a few more film backs for the Bronica so I'm excited to be able to really dive into medium format photography. On top of all that I've been looking into a developing tank for 4x5 film so I can start using my speed graphic with the negatives it was originally intended for instead of using the 120 or polaroid backs for it.

As October draws to a close and things in my personal life slow down for the time being I've noticed I have time to get back into writing so expect an update on one of my pet projects that are constantly getting shelved when I have paying clients.
